Flogged by the Rooster

I Guess our rooster doesn't like tattoos!

Charlie flogged Alan when he was leaving the hen house, got him completely by surprise and this is the result. Thankfully it was not as bad as it could have been. We know better than to wear shorts in the chicken house, for some strange reason that is the only time our rooster will try to attack and he always waits until you have your back turned.....Bad Rooster!

Happy Late Valentines Day

I had to work on Valentines Day so I am a little late in wishing everyone a good day but I hope that the romance of this day is still lingering into your weekend!
Alan came into work on Valentines day and brought me a pretty pink laced, heart shaped box of chocolate, a sweet pink teddy bear, a pink rose and a beautifully sentimental card! he had little notes all tucked around saying how much he loved me!
I thought that was so sweet and the residents at the Assisted Living where I work enjoyed it almost as much as I did, they were still talking about it yesterday!
I loved all the little attention to detail that he so thoughtfully put together, I am blessed to have such a wonderful Man in my life!

Gathering Wood

We spent our day gathering firewood!

We cut, Chopped and split wood most of the day!

Hunter came along to help ,but he really just ran around exploring in the woods,

Lucky Dog!

The weather was perfect, just enough chill in the air to work without getting too warm or cold! We had a perfect blue sky all day,
funny how the weather can be so deceiving, we are expecting to get freezing rain and snow starting tonight.

When we came home, Alan split the big chunks of wood to fit in the wood stove and Robin helped stack the wood into nice neat stacks while I got started on fixing dinner. We ate oven fried chicken with my home made shake and bake seasoning, Angel hair pasta with a Parmesan sauce and snow peas, for desert I made Chocolate chip cookies!

We had a good time, got a lot of work done and it feels good at the end of the day!

Who needs a gym membership when you live in the country?

Everything is Pop Pops!

Alan is such a wonderful Pop Pop! He is great with kids, I think because he is still a kid at heart. Ryan just adores him and everything in Ryan's mind belongs to Pop Pop!
Today on the phone Ryan told Alan he was watching Pop Pops cartoons! Whenever Alan is at home that is usually where you will find Ryan, Sitting on his Pop Pops lap, holding his hand and leading him around or just hanging out with his favorite person in the world.... Ryan just adores his Pop Pop!

Alan

This is Alan...The love of my life! with our dog Hunter. Alan is one of the most care free, fun loving and good spirited people I have ever met. He would gladly give you the shirt off his own back or the last dime in his pocket if you needed it. He is very Loving and hard working!
I am so grateful that God lead us to a path where we would meet, he has been an inspiration in my life and a true Blessing in the life of my youngest daughter and grandson.
Alan has always been a friend to the underdog, sometimes putting their needs before his own and many people are glad to call him friend, he is very humble though and often wonders why people like him so well. That's not very hard to see if you know him!
I am glad we are the couple that we are and I can not imagine walking through this life with out him!
He is one of many Blessings in my life!
