New Family Member!

We have acquired another addition to our family..... Meet Sheba!

She had wondered into a car lot and the employees were unable to find her owners after a little while they had managed to find her another home that did not work out, the lady who took her in had other dogs and they did not like Sheba, she was bitten in the neck which required sutures, she also has several bite wounds on her nose. After a trip to a vet she ended up back at the car lot. The employees of the car lot tried to keep her but she kept setting off the alarms at night so they decided she could not stay there. While Alan and Robin were at a football game today, it was announced over the loud speakers for any one interested in adopting a Siberian husky to report to the front entrance. Robin of course could not resist the temptation of getting a Siberian Husky and was the first in line to see her. Well that's it! That is how we came to add Sheba to our growing list of animals.
She seems like a very friendly dog, we gave her a good bath, brushed her and gave her some food. She is starting to fit around here already! Hunter our Golden Retriever is happy to have another four legged companion and they are getting along great!

I think she will find a happy home here with us!

she's very pretty. were you nervous about getting a new dog when you have chickens and whatnot? as you can read on my farm blog, we had a big problem with our dog and our chickens, to the point that he killed 4. we got rid of the dog. now i'm so jaded against them i fear i'll never find a suitable dog again now that we have livestock. any suggestions?

Thank you for visiting my blog! I am very nervous about having her here until we get to know her better. Right now we are keeping her away from the animals by keeping her leashed when shes outside. We have a Golden Retriever that is wonderful around the animals! He goes in and out of the chicken and turkey coops with me and does not bother the animals at all!
I guess it just depends on the dog.
Maybe trying with a puppy that can be trained is the better option.
